Multi-Generational Connection: The Inoculation that Will Defeat the Plague of Pornography

Multi-Generational Connection: The Inoculation that Will Defeat the Plague of Pornography

Andrew Russell

Teens, you’ve probably been exposed to porn: a lot of it. Chances are, some of you even struggle to avoid it. What role do your parents and grandparents play in your generation’s fight against porn? Better yet, what role do you play in your younger siblings’ & future children’s fight against it?

As the generations turn toward each other, the connection that will be strengthened will be enough to overcome pornography: enough to overcome it in one’s life, and enough to overcome it in the world.

In this interactive lesson, we will compare the current plague of pornography to the historical plague of polio. We’ll learn about how multiple generations worked to defeat polio, then we’ll define and put into practice the ways multiple generations can work together now to defeat pornography.

Andrew Russell is Co-Chief of Staff at Citizens For Decency, an organization that empowers others to stand against pornography, and a participant in the Safeguard Alliance, a group of organizations that works to protect children from sexual exploitation and pornography. He’s also a student at BYU-Idaho studying entrepreneurial management. In his work to help others stand against pornography, Andrew has participated in the Coalition to End Sexual Exploitation in Washington, D.C., lobbied the U.S. Congress & Idaho State Legislature, and led various movements to stand against pornography. Andrew believes every good thing he has stems from the love and teaching of his parents.
