About The Conference
The Utah Coalition Against Pornography (UCAP) Conference for Hope, Help, and Healing is a semi annual event designed for individuals and leaders from various sectors, including adults, couples, parents, grandparents, and both religious and community leaders. The conference features expert speakers who provide valuable insights and strategies to address the harmful effects of pornography. UCAP serves as a platform for connecting thought leaders and advocates, fostering an environment of education, empowerment, and support. The positive conference environment will empower attendees to leave the event inspired, motivated, and equipped with the tools needed to strengthen their families and communities.

Emotionologist, Curtis Morley, is an international keynote speaker, educator, thought leader, mountaineer, and patent holder. He’s a Wall Street Journal Best-Selling author. He has been heard on over 1,000 radio stations and podcasts by millions worldwide. Curtis is a contributor to Forbes, LifeHacker, and Inc. He's been featured on KSL, ABC, NBC, NPR, Amazon, and Apple TV. The message of light, hope, and authenticity found in understanding “Counterfeit Emotions” creates the mindset shift and behavior change individuals are seeking. He shares this life-changing message of inspiration, hope, peace, and joy so people can live their most genuine lives.

President Emily Belle Freeman
Young Women General President, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
President Emily Belle Freeman was sustained as General Young Women President on April 1, 2023. President Freeman was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and raised in Utah. She is an author and teacher, including many years in the Church Educational System. Her greatest joy is teaching about Christ. She and her husband, Greg, have five children.

Matt Wenger
Executive Clinical Director, Begin Again Institute
Matt is the Executive Clinical Director of Begin Again Institute, a treatment center that offers Trauma Based Intensives for Men seeking recovery from porn and sex addiction and Betrayed Partners. He has served more than 1,500 families in that setting since 2019. Matt’s expertise is in men’s addiction, betrayal trauma, childhood trauma, couple’s recovery and the spiritual aspects of recovery. Matt holds a Master’s degree in Couples and Family Counseling and is credentialed as Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Certified Sex Addiction Therapist (CSAT), and Certified Clinical Partner Specialist (CCPS) Matt lives near Boulder Colorado with his wife and son. He enjoys reading, art, spending time with his family and hiking in his free time.

Roxanna Johnson
Author, Betrayal Trauma Meeting Facilitator
I discovered I loved to write in the fifth grade. Since then, I have used this love in various forms: newspapers, magazines, as well as the creation of federal and foundational grant proposals. Most recently, I wrote, Forgotten in the Battle with Sexual Addiction: The Journey of a Spouse. In it, I share my recovery story and the principles that aided my healing and the healing of hundreds of other women I walked the journey of recovery with. I continue to work to spread its message that God heals spouses. My greatest accomplishment is my family.

Melissa McKay & Dina Alexander
President, Digital Childhood Institute & CEO, Educate and Empower Kids
Melissa McKay is the president of the Digital Childhood Institute, a nonprofit organization dedicated to exposing and addressing online systems that harm children. A Utah mother of five and leading expert in device and online safety, she has helped draft Congressional testimony and led three national online safety movements. Melissa recently authored comprehensive FTC complaints against Apple and Google for failing to protect children and played a key role in conceptualizing, drafting, and passing Utah’s App Store Accountability Act, the world’s first law holding app stores accountable for child protection. Dina Alexander is the Communications Director of the Digital Childhood Alliance and the founder of Educate and Empower Kids. She is the creator of How to Talk to Your Kids About Pornography, Noah’s New Phone: A Story About Using Technology for Good, Petra’s Power to See: A Media Literacy Adventure, and the 30 Days of Sex Talks and 30 Days to a Stronger Child programs. She received her master’s degree in recreation therapy from the University of Utah and her bachelor's from Brigham Young University. She is a passionate, whole-hearted mom of three children and loves spending time with them.

Andrea Hainsworth, Betsy Hughes Barrow, & Martin Palmer

Andrea Hainsworth, LMHC, is the founder, owner, and clinical director of Secure Intimacy Marriage & Family Counseling. She works almost exclusively with couples healing from unwanted pornography use, infidelity and other forms of sexual acting out. Andrea has facilitated numerous recovery groups for individuals overcoming pornography use and for betrayed partners. Passionate about helping individuals, couples and families heal, she believes that breaking generational cycles of shame and secrecy can create lasting strength and connection. Andrea & her husband Jason are the parents of six, including two adopted children, Andrea loves reading, learning, and spending time with her family at the lake. Betsy Hughes Barrow, LAMFT is a marriage and family therapist and a doctoral student at Brigham Young University. Her research focuses on therapeutic interventions for couples who have faced family-of-origin adversity. Betsy practices at Secure Intimacy Marriage and Family Counseling in Provo, where she specializes in helping young adults and couples heal and find greater security in their romantic relationships.When not at work, Betsy and her husband, Jeff, are avid BYU sports fans. They also enjoy experimenting with new recipes together—a hobby that began as a strategy to foster connection within their blended family of eight children and has since become a favorite family pastime. Martin Palmer, AMFT, is a therapist in the Provo office of Secure Intimacy Marriage & Family Counseling. He works with clients to heal from pornography use and the attachment wounds that perpetuate its use. As a multicultural person and as an AMFT he has a unique appreciation for the cultural factors of mental and emotional health. He loves his wife (Laura, who happens to be the UCAP event planner) and children. He played soccer for BYUH, but now struggles to play an hour of pickleball. Random fun facts: Martin once received an undeserved doctorate from a dental school. He is extremely good at Geoguessr. Martin loves spearfishing and is currently working on a 3 minute breath-hold.

Eve Nigro
MA, ACMHC
Eve Nigro is a Clinical Mental Health Therapist (MA, ACMHC) in private practice specializing in ADHD, trauma, addiction recovery, and marriage counseling. A devout Catholic and former Army member, she integrates evidence-based psychology with theology to promote holistic healing. Eve is a seasoned speaker for diocesan youth and adult events, known for her engaging, compassionate approach to difficult topics. Her work bridges neuroscience and faith, offering practical tools rooted in both cognitive-behavioral therapy and Catholic moral theology. She lives in Utah with her husband and four children.

While in college, he founded Fight the New Drug with a few like-minded friends. Since then, it has grown into a worldwide movement. Over the years, Clay has presented to more than 100,000 people on the harmful effects of pornography and other forms of sexual exploitation. With an exceptional talent in ugly dance moves and a flair for competitive yard gaming, Clay helps lead the Fight the New Drug team in reaching youth and creating resources to equip and educate in this movement for love.

Elisabeth Eckman
Presenter and Social Media Manager, Fight the New Drug
Elisabeth values connection above all else and sees it as a means for individuals to feel deeply appreciated and empowered. Her diverse background in performing arts, conflict resolution, and marketing allows her to connect with audiences through purposeful language and meaningful experiences. Outside of work, you can find Elisabeth living life to the fullest by spending time with loved ones, training for a Spartan Race, reading a good book, or planning her next adventure!

Jason Dausses
MS, ACMHC
Jason Dausses is a clinical mental health counselor who believes that everyone is able to EXPERIENCE HEALED. The cornerstone of Jason's personal and clinical work is balancing the integration of spirituality, nondualism, and trauma-informed experiential techniques into the healing journey. Having walked the path of recovery himself, Jason knows the ground-level experience of transformation and a deep understanding of how to disarm shame at it's source. Jason knows how finding balance physically, emotionally, and spiritually leads us to our True, Authentic Self and believes that everyone can experience RECOVERED. He regularly presents and leads workshops at Catholic churches and community groups across the Diocese of Salt Lake City. In his spare time, you can find him skiing, camping, reading, meditating, overlanding, and hanging out with with his wife and close friends.
