Chelom E. Leavitt

Associate Professor

Dr. Leavitt earned her PhD at Penn State and focuses her research on healthy relationship and sexuality. She is currently an associate professor in the School of Family Life at BYU. She has been published in all the top academic journals in her field and blogs regularly for Psychology Today. She also teaches a validated curriculum to couples, therapists, and relationship educators on how to improve romantic and sexual relationships and create more meaningful connections.  Chelom’s research has included people from many religions and cultures. She is studying the cultural acceptance of a sexual mindfulness intervention in her current sabbatical.

If you have ever struggled to talk openly and comfortably about sex with your children or partner, this presentation is for you. Dr. Leavitt will outline how to develop a comfortable environment and give examples for how to talk about sensitive topics surrounding sexuality. Learning to engage in these important conversations is the first step in establishing healthier relationships and meaningful connections with both your children and your spouse.

We'll see you at the conference!
