Be Not Afraid, Only Believe

Joy D. Jones

As we stand united against the pandemic of pornography, fear must not control us. Little can be accomplished with the spirit of fear. We have a responsibility to the rising generation to face this battle armed with faith and determination. We can educate, prepare and empower children, youth and adults in simple but achievable methods and processes to move forward assertively. As we combine our individual efforts to strengthen families, we can create synergy in our purposes and our outcomes. We don’t have to be experts to care and contribute. There is need for all who are willing to act.

Sister Joy D. Jones serves as the 13th general president of the Primary organization for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. In her current assignment Sister Jones oversees the religious curriculum and education of more than one million children worldwide, ages 12 and younger, in over 26,000 church congregations. She also serves in various committees at Church Headquarters where matters affecting children and the family are discussed. Sister Jones cherishes most the opportunities she has to meet with precious children around the world.

Sister Jones received a degree in Family Living from Brigham Young University, where she met her sweetheart, Robert B. Jones. Together, they are the grateful parents of 5 children and 19 grandchildren. They have lived in Texas, Oregon, California and Utah.

In her free-time, Sister Jones loves playing with her grandchildren, temple and family history work, cooking and studying nutrition, hiking, and reading.
