Hope
Elder Dale G. Renlund
"My message is that being impacted by pornography is not an impossible situation. There's hope, there's help, and there's healing, but it requires the right mindset, the right approach, and the right individuals to be involved."
"The seemingly impossible, is possible. "
2If we believe the situation is hopeless, well it is. We need to believe that change is possible, that help is accessible, and that with that help, healing can occur."
"I believe that individuals marriages and families can heal and overcome the ills of pornography when willingness, education, hard work, faith and appropriate treatment coales."
"There's the healthy shame, or some people call it guilt, which is "I have done a bad thing" where toxic shame says "I AM bad" and that then has a very deep implication then for identity and that can get in the way as parents try to approach this.
"The first response by parents or even an ecclesiastical leader has to be positive reinforcement for anyone opening up about this...it must be welcoming, encouraging, loving and non-condemning."
