Protecting Children from Pornography in Difficult Situations: Resistant Children, Learning Disabilities, Imperfect Families

Protecting Children from Pornography in Difficult Situations: Resistant Children, Learning Disabilities, Imperfect Families

John and Lucas Fort

Many families face situations that make protecting children from the dangers of pornography feel overwhelming. This presentation looks at the unique challenges families face who have resistant children, children with ADHD or other learning difficulties, or where there are not two parents united in the effort to protect children. We will discuss together the challenges each of these difficult scenarios presents to a parent. We will consider realistic outcomes a parent can aim for in each of these situations. Potential resolutions to each these problems will be presented. The presentation will conclude with a discussion on the necessary parent self-care in such families as well as discussing the primary goal for parents to work toward.

  • You can expect to come away with more confidence to work through difficult challenges in your family or families you care for.
  • You will have a much clearer goal for the children you support.
  • You will know what to let go of and what needs most of your attention.
  • Finally, and most important, you will understand where there is hope for children in even the most difficult family situations.
